Research field(s)

•My work focuses on analyzing the dynamics of solidarity between individuals, families and public action, using two complementary approaches. On the one hand, a comparative approach focusing on the specific issue of support for ageing and disabled people, using an international territorial comparison with the “AURELIA” PEPR. On the other hand, a monographic approach, through the study of an archipelagic territory and its population, by questioning the sustainability of the settlement with regard to public and private solidarity In French Polynesia. In the first case, I favour a top-down approach, from the construction of a cultural norm - that of autonomy - through its implementation to its reception and appropriation by a specific population. In the second approach, I take a bottom-up approach, starting with an analysis of island territories and the characteristics of their populations, to understand how public action adapts or fails to adapt and structures both the demographics and lifestyles of island populations.
