AIDELF (an international association of francophone demographers) was founded in 1977. It is made up of a multidisciplinary team of demographers and experts whose work is oriented towards demography. Today, AIDELF has 500 members, all of whom are francophone and come from about sixty different countries. Every two years, the association organizes an international conference on current themes in population studies.
