Applying with outside funding

Welcoming of PhD students with external funding 


Ined offers the possibility to PhD students funded outside of Ined to join the facility during their first year of thesis. 


Eligibility conditions :

Suggested researches have to blend within the scope of the scientific project of Ined (read the strategic orientations of Ined ).

Candidates must answer the three following criteria :

Holding a final year Master’s degree or equivalent diploma allowing to register in a French or foreign university, qualifying for admission to a PhD program in a discipline related to the population sciences
Being directed or codirected by an Ined searcher 
Having obtained an external funding in the scope of PhD program 
There is no restriction as to age or nationality.

How to apply? 

Files must be submitted by email at info-doctorants@ined.fr for both campaigns. Any file submitted outside of the calendar will not be assessed.
The campaign calendar allows PhD students to integrate the facility in October or in March, so they can at least spend a semester in Ined, starting their first year of thesis. 

First campaign :

Start : July, 1st 2024 
Deadline for application : September, 15th 2024 
Administrative instruction : from September, 15th to 30th 2024
Evaluation by Ined.iPOPs admission comity : from September, 15th to 30th 2024 
Head’s decision : week of October, 1st 2024 
Start Ined welcoming : October, 14th 2024 

Second campaign : 

Start : December, 16th 2024 
Deadline for application : February, 14th 2025 
Administrative instruction : from February, 17th to 28th 2025 
Evaluation by Ined.iPOPs admission comity : from February, 17th to 28th 2025
Head’s decision : week of March, 3rd 2025 
Start of Ined welcoming : March, 17th 2025 
Caution : PhD students that have an HED doctoral contract :

Eligibility conditions and asked documents to be welcome in Ined remain the same. Moreover, candidates are not submitted to the mentioned campaigns calendar and can submit their “Au fil de l’eau” file.
