Ageing Europe and young Turkey: still a labour reservoir?

Between the 1950s and 1973/4 many European countries experienced labour shortages and were engaged in guest worker policies that sought to increase supply of labour in the domestic labour markets by “importing” labour from other countries. One of the most crucial extra-European source was Turkey.
